Play areas are designed for children not only to have fun but also to exercise in an exciting environment, these criteria are essential but so is safety! Saxon Rubber Products are proud to play a part in the well being of children by manufacturing safety tiles that provide a safer fall than concrete or any other hard surfaces.

Saxon Rubber Safety Tiles are manufactured under extensive quality controls to ensure the highest safety standard for playgrounds. Saxon Rubber Safety Tiles give protection to children that fall whilst playing, giving parents piece of mind that their siblings are in safe hands! Our tiles are ideal for public parks, schools, nurseries, kindergartens, day care facilities, multi use games areas and more. Saxon Rubber Safety Tiles are supplied in different thicknesses to cater for CFH (Critical Fall Height) from 1m to 3m, in accordance to safety standard EN1177.

Saxon Rubber Tiles are supplied with interlocking pins (pictured below), which prevents the tiles from moving therefore preventing the presence of gaps between the tiles ultimately preventing trip hazards. Saxon Rubber Tiles are to be installed in an offset configuration to further prevent tile movement , also prevents the use of glue to secure the tiles.

To complement the Saxon Rubber Tiles we manufacture edge and corner profiles to surround the play area to reduce trip hazards and create a more accessible play areas.

What is CFH?

A Critical Fall Height (CFH) is the maximum height of fall from play equipment to the ground. It is important to note that safety surfaces do not prevent injury but aim to lessen the severity of any injury that may occur on falls from height.

It’s important that you ensure the surfacing below each item of equipment is correctly specified for the critical fall height properties for that piece. Different play equipment will all have different fall heights, and your equipment manufacturer will be able to advise you as to the CFH required for each item.
